Hello. I've just done something very very silly. Very silly.

I've just bought a 2002 SLK32. Oh. sight unseen:surprise:

Used to have a 230 but sold that when our son was born and 4 doors/seats made sense (w202 C280) but the need for another "toy" has bitten as son gets bigger... The 280 is rusting so hopefully the new one is in better shape... It has a full history, 2nd of 3 owners was a long term employee at a classic Jag restorers. So I have taken a punt.

I tried a Porsche 964 - and bought too well (too nice a car to be a toy and abused) so sold it after 18 months of ownership and the clear profit on it has paid for the '32. Wife didn't like the 911 and always liked the SLK so this gets CFO approval

Black with black/grey interior

I shall post some pictures when I get it and had a post-purchase inspection.

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.
Post your vin in the Vehicle Datacard Request section to get a free datacard (options on your car). You must update your profile with vehicle info and your location and post an introduction first.

A little update before I swap out fora... and throw dumb questions about elsewhere

Car arrived this afternoon and I saw it for the first time (never recommended but hey, live dangerously ;). History is 2011 onwards - I am sure I can rebuild some of the earlier MB stuff if needed but it's done about 40k miles since 2011 with complete MB history since then so all the MB-codes should have been checked etc. 82k miles

Near side headlight has been replaced - history suggests a collision so need to make sure it's been put back together properly and it's going to annoy me having a nice clear lens one side with the other showing some signs of age/yellowing - I have xenons so not sure about the Spyders
Rust bubbling through... inner lip of hood/bonnet, by boot/trunk handle and on three wheelarches where the trim changes - in other words, the usual places.
Some interior marking around the ignition barrel and on the seat bolster but nothing major
HIDEOUS Pioneer head unit which just HAS to go
It's filthy and needs a good paint detail

I spotted Smart-top packaging in the footwell which was a very nice surprise and saves me getting that

But... £6,500. For a Feb 2002 AMG32.
