Hello, this device is responsible for heating in the car. Now it does not work, and the repairman tells me that I should change it in orger for the heating to work. Are they right? What can I do in order to have heat in the car? R170, 1999 year. 1998 cc.

I must find a person who knows how to do this, what serviceman must I find?
And where can I buy to replace it better? do you know any sites please?
I use Spareto in Estonia whenever possible. I've found they are very very good and their prices are usually the best.

You have a choice Maria. Find someone near you who can do the repair using the service kit or buy a new unit at about €300 ..... Part number is A0018303284. Replacement is straightforward although system will need new coolant. The work to do the repair with the service kit is not difficult and does not need to be a Mercedes specialist.... just a good practical mechanic.

"Does not work" could mean several things - the first thing to do is to check for power at the module - if no power is present, check fuse#15 ..

EDIT:
Scrub that, no power would mean full heat, constantly.
