New member here from just outside Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

My dear wife and I both fell in love with the SLK when it was introduced. When the second generation came out, I was positively drooling over it. During the years we have always commented along the lines of "maybe we should get one, it looks fun" whenever we saw one. But we never followed through.

My wife is battling breast cancer, she's been on chemotherapy for 18 months. A couple of weeks ago she was finally able to get the tumour surgically removed. To celebrate that major turnpoint and that she now can expect a full recovery, we decided to, at long last, treat ourselves with our dream car.

So, since a couple of days we have a black 2006 SLK 350 sitting on the driveway. We're both super happy with it and only regret that we didn't do it much sooner.

Cheers,
Ragnar

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

This place is truly a treasure trove of knowledge for all things SLK. I had some questions to ask, but just browsing and searching revealed that those questions had (of course) already been asked and answered before. I have also found a ton of information that I didn't know I wanted/needed. So, I found all the answers I wanted before I registered.

But, even without questions to ask, the community here is reason enough to become a member. Such a friendly and helpful bunch of people you are(y) I registered just because of you. I hope that I will be able to contribute in some way in the future.

Hail Ragnar!
I like it when people know how to greet me properly :p

Cheers,
Ragnar

Welcome from just West of London, England - Great looking SLK (y)

Looking at Your picture, one option to consider is a OEM optional Wind Deflector for the R171?
579905

Which are great for driving in "Cooler Weather" with Air-Scarf on.....

@Trev5
Great minds think alike ;)

This is what I did yesterday:

I found the seller in a thread in the SLK R171 General discussion forum.

And yes, we do have the occasional day with "cooler" weather here in Sweden...❄⛄

@jbanks15
I assume it comes with the instructions. It's brand new in original packaging.
I always try to find the instructions for anything I intend to buy, before I click any "Buy it now" button.
I fed site:slkworld.com slk r171 plexiglass ("draught stop" OR "wind deflector" OR "wind shield") A1718600174 instructions into Google and your thread showed up at the top of the results.(y)

Thanks to you, I have already read the instructions.:)
I got the part number from on here, too.
