Gave up trying to find nice firemist and got a mediocre silver one last night. Made the 200 mile drive home with no CEL, hoping to focus on cosmetics for a while, but already peeing coolant. Level did not drop a whole lot on the long drive home, but after short drive and park this am, I came back to see a little stream. Level still not much changed. Haven't crawled under it, but aft of engine possibly slightly driver's side. Will search forums, hoping could be something other than head gasket.

Welcome to SLKWorld.com: The #1 Mercedes-Benz SLK Forum from Valrico, Florida!

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Welcome from Portland/Clackamas, Oregon. Check out the Beaver State SLK's under the community section of the forum. We will be meeting at a cars and coffee event and then taking a drive up the gorge on the old highway on Saturday the 9th.

Welcome aboard, and I heartily second what Dave said! Come join us at Cars & Coffee in Tigard at the Sequoia Parkway Starbucks, and after that we'll take a cruise up the Columbia Gorge Scenic Highway and decide what to do for lunch...there's a couple of nice brewpubs in Hood River, or do we want to climb up around Highway 35 to lunch at Timberline Lodge?

And if your SLK isn't serviceable on Saturday, no matter...just come find us in Tigard and come along with whatever you're driving.

Thanks all! Saw quite a few threads with external head gasket leaks at back of m111 engine, but then finally found a thread mentioning the copious amount of condensation the AC evaporator can dump upon parking - from central location under car (apparently right around firewall...?) Will get under there and look soon, but thinking this must be it, as no stream after recent long drive with no ac. Relieved! Also found the dead aftermarket HU was an easy fix so I have tunes and bluetooth. Searching for fiber optic to rca adapter in hopes of using the disc changer...? Just find tons of posts about the opposite sort of adapter to replace changer with aux for ipod. HID projectors are on the way & might make it to the local cruise this weekend.
