Hi everyone,

this seems to be a great forum. I have an SLK 200, 1998 model, R170, imported from Germany. I have searched the web and posted on MBworld.org, but got no replies so hopefully someone can help here regarding compatible.

My old PSE pump got ruined by water, and I was stupid enough to toss it away before oreding a new one, so I don't have the part number. I got a new one from Ebay, called "Slk 200 Central Locking Vacuum Pump R170 1708000848 @96-04". But this one had an extra connector on it compared to the old one. I hooked up everything except the last connector, since I don't have that plug, but nothing works. No repsonse. i have cleaned the plugs by the way.

So my question is what PSE partnumber is compatible with my car? I found a list here ( https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/1/fg/170435/45f/80/040/) but which one would work? I don't want to get another dud... Hoping to bring the old wagon back to life for the summer, roof down!

Thanks.

Hi, again thanks for all the links and tips. I am still a bit lost though as to which vacuum pump to order. My VIN number is: WDB1704351F093427. I know the old pump had one electrical connector socket on it. Many of the pumps on ebay have two sockets (one black and one white). I ordered one with two sockets a while ago, and it didn't work. Using my VIN number, the link below lists several different pumps. Some of which seem to have two plugs. Any tips as to which pump would work with my VIN number car would be greatly appreciated!

Did you look up the part number using your vin and the link above? You may need to call MB for it if you're unable to do so yourself.

Hi, welcome :)

This is a real oddity.

According to EPC every pump listed for your VIN has at least two electrical connectors. I just checked them

Do you still have the pump and/or the part number?
