Hi there guys, just bought our first SLK yesterday, hoping for delivery early next week. Prior to yesterday I had admired - but never driven an SLK. I've had C-Class, S-Class, and also have a BMW 520d-se, but the SLK blew me away.

Its a 2005 SLK200, from a main dealer in west yorkshire, and we cant wait for it to arrive, its just a shame we are coming to the end of the nice weather over here! The car is in incredible condition for a 9yo motor, the bodywork is mint and the wheels have never been near a kerb by the looks of it!

We are at "that age" where we dont need 2 family cars any more (1 of our kids has just started driving herself) so we thought we would treat ourselves to a "fun" car, although my wife will be commuting in it most days.

This seems like a friendly place, and there appears to be quite a few people in our neck of the woods, but hello to SLK owners all over the world.

(sorry for rambling on!)

Hi and welcome from the UK Midlands!

I got my first SLK last week, so I still remember the sleepless nights between buying and taking delivery... it's all worth it the first time you put the roof down and drive it though! :)

Hi t8yman, a warm welcome from Southern Arizona. Congratulations on your new ride. This is a good time to exercise your smile muscles as this car has a very high smiles to miles ratio. Enjoy the people, the forum, and top down cruisin'.

Sounds good Pete, we actually live in Brough now, although I work on Hedon Road. Sunday mornings are doable during the summer, but I'm afraid my lads' football commitments involve our sunday mornings ferrying him around the local area!

Cheers
