Hey everyone at SLKforums.....
Name is Andy,and I'm from Croatia,EU....

I'm looking to buy a 2004/2005 R171 SLK,and I joined forums to find all info I want before I make my purchase.

Looking to have great fun here and meet some new people
EDIT:
Oh,prior to this car I used to have 2002. C class as my first car.
...then I replaced it with 2001. boxster Porsche....now I sold Porsche, and I'm into Benz again...

Here i is!

Andy,

Welcome to the World’s Premier Mercedes-Benz SLK Community from Valrico, Florida!

Please update your location/vehicle (model and year) in your profile as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information.
‘Usercp’ at the top left of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’.

If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
In addition, if you haven’t, please post your question in the appropriate discussion forum for a quicker response. Be patient and a knowledgeable member or guest will address your question.

Thank you,
Jeff

Thx all for nice welcome :)

I will use search mostly, and ask for things I can't find....I got cca 2months to decide which SLK engine I want and buy one...

Mostly I'm interested in consumption and reliability :)

But we'll discuss that in right sub forums :)

I'd go for a 350, manual transmission, THE best SLK in the range - nearly as quick as a 55, but much more fun to drive than an automatic (but I'm biased :) ).

I did my homework on forum (many many infos, and all great stuff) :)

Judging from posts and experience with MB I have from family (grandpa is CL owner,ML is a family car), SLK is reliable car.

From consumption data I like slk200k stats....so that will be my engine of choice...

Price is around 19.000€ for 2004. SLK200K here... and that suits my budget since I have to buy car on my own,no shortcuts despite they could get me new SL :))) and I'm proud I can get it on my own.

So I'll start looking for black one now.

And I have some interior plans, since I'm good with leather (kind of a hobby),but I'll think about that when I get it.

I did not have any intention to brag about anything,I'm just happy cuz here where I live people think I get everything and I do nothing all day...and I'm happy that my work is paying of now and I can get myself what I like :)

I'll move to another SLK topic to find info that search did not provide.

Welcome from Indy!

My paternal grandparents were Croatian, so that makes me 1/2 Croat, and proud of it. I wish I knew the language, but I wasn't around my grandmother much.

Good luck in your search.

Welcome from Eugene, Oregon via San Diego, California!
The SL is a very beautiful luxury two seater; but like Woolly says, the SLK is much more fun to drive :)
