Hello

It's been a few years since we have owned a Merc, over the time we have had a few, A class (A220AMG), B class, E class Estate x 2, ML350 Petrol 3.7. ML320Cdi

Then a gap of a few years....

My wife has a 'big' birthday coming up and was looking at a weekend toy, started with MX5's (as we have both had one) then other sports cars and eventually I find a very well spec, low miles SLK350

Ticks all the box's I did consider the 55 but the insurance on this is so low, and the millage was much lower than any 55. On paper it looks nippy so sure it will be fun.

What do I need to look out for.

Looking forward so some roof down driving again with the heated seats & Airscarf :)

So Hello from Me.

They list things that are not there and miss things that are.
As an example:
I recently viewed a 55 with all the extras (not possible as some options delete other choices)
and even rear folding seats!! In a two seater. Priceless.

Hello

So after owning may Merc's over the years, we have recently tried other marques. However my wife had a big birthday and I tracked down a nice SLK for her.

Spent part of Friday cleaning it ready for the surprise (she had no idea...)

Have to say it looks lovely and drives great, the only thing I have found is the heater fan is loud, hopefully a fairly straightforward fix?

Anyway it joins the toys we have. Roll on some sun

Thanks

If You look under the bonnet, and remove the cover that sits over the car battery:
571978

...and while the key is Not in the ignition, check there are no leaves in the cabin fan, which is behind the battery:

Plus, while the battery cover is off, make sure that the drain holes around the battery are clear, or water will enter via the fan into the passenger foot well & course a hole pile of electrical problems....
