Just acquired a 2007 R171 SLK 350 Auto in Silver. The car has COMAND with Nav a CD multiplayer and the phone cradle updated to Bluetooth (with the MB part) and has the heated multifunction (heated) steering wheel. Would like DAB (but that looks a tricky ask).

I am in the UK in the North East of England (Teesside).

Have had the car 10 days and today it has absolutely thrown down with rain and I have just discovered that the boot is soaking. Hopefully, this will be straightforward to sort, but having started looking at the posts here I am feeling somewhat less optimistic.

Any suggestions pointers on addressing the leaky boot greatly appreciated as would be thoughts on possible upgrades to DAB. Finally the tyres are OK but will need replacing in about 1500 miles. What do people consider the best option?Have seen the option

Will post photos later (when/if it stops chucking down the rain)

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Welcome to the forum.
I hope that every problem this car has will be sorted soon.
Please keep in mind that not many people frequent to the welcome area, so it would be better to ask at the R171 area with a thread for each problem.
Best Regards

Hi and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us! :)

Did you say 'COMMAND'? with 2 'Ms'? I will edit it - for you and for newbies:
Cockpit Management and Data system - COMAND for short

We have quite a few members in the UK that like to meet up from time to time. If you're interested in joining us sometime, just keep an eye on the UK Region section, as we post meeting plans there! :tu:

There's a summary post that I maintain for all UK meets here, and links to examples and pictures from this year's past meets are available here.

Finally, we also recently started plotting where our UK members are - check out the thread for that here: SLKWorld UK & Ireland Members and Meeting Points Map

Thanks

welcome leaky roof guy

Welcome from Canada, lots of info here on leaky roofs it just depends where it is leaking from on how to go about fixing it.
Remember where the water is ending up doesn't always tell the story of where it is entering.
Good luck with the leak.

Welcome from the Wirral.

I'd start with the lube those seals post above.

Make sure all your drain holes are clear and working.
There's a good diagram showing the locations. Not all are obvious.
