Has anyone experienced an issue with a heavy throttle pedal? I recently purchased a new SLC 180 - really please with it but when travelling long distance (30 miles) I get an ache in the bottom of my right foot. I tried an SLC 250 whilst waiting for. Mine and it was fine. Throttle pedal has been replaced by MB but still the same! Car has done 3000 miles.
Any info much appreciated.

Thanks

Tim

Tim....is your wallet in your back pocket?

The problem starts when your sciatic nerve, which is right behind your hip joint, gets pinched between the wallet and your hip itself, and can sometimes be diagnosed as sciatica. ... Stuffing a wallet in your back pocket also tilts your pelvis to one side, which puts more stress on your spine.

I have a leadfoot...does that count? :D

LeadFoot
A curious medical condition of the right pedal extremity that afflicts millions of drivers worldwide. While the disease is much more prevalent among males, females have also been known to contract it.

Symptoms include tailgating, jackrabbit starts, burnouts, clutch dumps with advanced cases often leading to modding, nos usage, turbocharging and an addiction to motor sports or even street racing.

With all due respect to my most learned colleague, I doubt that will do anything for his heavy pedal. I freely admit I know very little about a lot of things (Lorraine will attest to that  but:

A lot of people (other forums) ask the same question (vettes, impalas, etc) and it seems that since this is a "gas-by-wire" setup and not the old physical linkage type, won't a computer sw adjustment solve his perceived problem?

This won't solve the issue but doesn't the "Pedal Commander" work in a similar fashion to a computer sw adjustment (albeit only while it's connected and not permanent)?

Hi Tim, and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us and posting an intro! :)

Sorry, but I can offer no input to your heavy throttle pedal issue... but still wanted to welcome you to the forum anyway...

We have quite a few members in the UK that like to meet up from time to time. If you're interested in joining us sometime, just keep an eye on the UK Region section, as we post meeting plans there!

There is a summary post that I maintain for our UK meets here. Links to examples and pictures from last year's meets are available here. We're a friendly group, and always happy to welcome new members at any of our meets.

We're also plotting where our UK members are - check out the thread for that here: SLKWorld UK & Ireland Members and Meeting Points Map - Please let me know if you'd like to be added to the map. :tu:

Thank you

Midlands is the centre of SLK UK.

Are you used to being in sports cars?
I ask, because initially folk sit far too upright and close to the wheel.
Have a little play with a lower position and legs stretched out a little more.
You may also need to adjust the steering wheel.

Getting this wrong makes legs ache in a car that you think at first is comfortable.
