Hi
My name is Garth from Staffs UK, I drive a 2012 SLK250 CDI AMG, the car doesn't get used often, I took it out the other day to find the heater to be blowing cold constantly, the running temp of the car is around 90 deg, I understand this may be a fault with the duo valve?
I cannot find its location, I have looked near the fuse box/survo and also in the battery compartment, I'm really struggling with this, any help/advise would be greatly appreciated. :frown:

Hi Garth, and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us and posting an intro! :)

Good luck in resolving your heater issue, although there's nothing that I can add beyond the comments that Jeff and Myk have already made.

We have quite a few members in the UK that like to meet up from time to time, with one planned for Sunday 5th Feb (as Myk has already mentioned). If you're interested in joining us sometime, just keep an eye on the UK Region section, as we post meeting plans there! :tu:

There is a summary post that I maintain for our UK meets ( here ). Links to examples and pictures from last year's meets are available here. We're a friendly group, and always happy to welcome new members at any of our meets.

Finally, we also recently started plotting where our UK members are - check out the thread for that here: SLKWorld UK & Ireland Members and Meeting Points Map

Thank you
Dave

Duovalve

Hi Jeff
Thanks for your message, to be honest this is the first time I have visited a formum and just hoping I'm posting correctly,
Anyway as for the duovalve I have watched the YouTube video and also looked at the picks available on google, the video looks like the valve is in the compartment next to the brake master cylinder and the picks look like it's in the battery compartment, I cannot find mine in either, quite frustrating to be honest, any help advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Garth

Hi
Thanks again for your help, I have had a look this morning and found the Valve, I've checked the connection, unplugging and plugging back in, I may be mistaken but this seems to a pump rather than a valve as it seems to be running all the time, I have hot water on both pipes to the Valve but the heater is still blowing cold, the only other thing I can think of is that it's the heater matrix inside the car but the cat has only done 49000 mile, it's been regularly serviced at Mercedes, the water is a good colour, I'm at a loss with this?
If you have any further thoughts it would be appreciated.

Cheers
Garth

If it is not mechanical, it might be 'electrical' and confused like myself

try a battery reset if you haven't
couldn't hurt

disconnect neg cable for a minimum of 30 minutes
reconnect cable
reset clock and reset/synch window travel
try heat
