This morning when I got in the car the headliner was hitting my head, it was sagging but it seemed to be filled with air. I put the top down and it worked normally. I put the top back up and drove to the store. When I returned to the car the plug on the headliner had blown out and the cover was no longer inflated. I put the plug back in and drove home. The headliner again was full of air till I took the plug out. Should I expect there is a hydraulic leak? 2001 SLK 320

Best Regards,

Wishing you a speedy recovery... Usually when you leak oil in the headliner it's pretty apparent... But check your fluid level in your reservoir to check for leaks just to be sure. I can't imagine what would cause an air pocket to form and then disappear. But yes it is possible for the adhesive to fail. I would act quickly - at least remove the headliner; many shops can reglue it for you if DIY isn't possible. And fix any leak before reinstalling.
