They say you should not post or e-mail after a few cocktails, but I find that a trivial point at the moment. :tu: I have something to say:

This forum has provided me great kinship over the almost 2 years I have been an SLK owner;

- I have conversed with people the world over. More over, we have shared laughs, hardships (moose adventures) and - generally - LIFE.

- I have had the opportunity to share passions beyond driving whilst here; weddings, watches, family, dogs, homes, boats, driving road trips and too much to be accounted in a short greeting.

- I have had the pleasure of meeting passionate SLK owners in the flesh from this forum; and found them to be the most astute, honest, admirable and worthy examples of MB ownership (and citizens of the world) anywhere. You SoCal (and other) folks know whom I am referring to.

- I have been honored by the keepers of this forum to offer advice - and occassionally solice - regards our SLKW future. I can only hope and pray our little private world prevails. You members are in absolute control of our future: PLEASE donate to our survival.

Happy holidays and best wishes for the New Year to you all and your extended families. I'm not generally a sappy gent, but I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge what this forum - and all of you - mean to me.

God bless,
David

Thanks, Coldshot, and may I reply to you and all of SLKWorld the following :biglaugh::biglaugh:

From me ("the wishor") to you ("hereinafter called the wishee")

Please accept without obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, politically correct, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all... and a financially successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2009, but with due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures or sects, and having regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of car/motorcycle brand or dietary preference of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting you are bound by these terms that:

* This greeting is subject to further clarification or withdrawal.

* This greeting is freely transferable provided that no alteration shall be made to the original greeting and that the proprietary rights of the wishor are acknowledged.

* This greeting implies no promise by the wishor to actually implement any of the wishes

* This greeting may not be enforceable in certain jurisdictions and/or the restrictions herein may not be binding upon certain wishees in certain jurisdictions and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wishor.

* This greeting is warranted to perform as reasonably may be expected within the usual application of good tidings, for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first.

* The wishor warrants this greeting only for the limited replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wishor.

* Any references in this greeting to "the Lord", "Father Christmas", "Our Savior", or any other festive figures, whether actual or fictitious, dead or alive, shall not imply any endorsement by or from them in respect of this greeting, and all proprietary rights in any referenced third party names and images are hereby acknowledged.

With appropriate salutations,

Woolly.

My goodness, an Austin Metropolitan made England in the late '50's, early '60's for the American market - that was one of the biggest flops in UK automotive history !! perhaps they should have made it with skis/runners from the start :)

I would like to wish all of our friends here at SLKWorld a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope the end of the year finds everyone in good health and in the company of friends and family; whether they are with you in person or people you have found online. I have the age old wish that all the people of the world will somehow find a way to live in peace and harmony and understand that diversity is what makes us interesting and SLKWorld so special in this online world we have today. You never know, one of these years it just might happen! Happy Holidays from Bill & Claire T

And a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Yule, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Kwanzaa, and Safe Solstice to you all. Hopefully that covered everyone, and if I missed someone, let me know and I'll add more...

Thanks to all of you for making this forum a pleasant place to spend a few minutes each day. May you all be safe and healthy in the coming year. And may someday I get the chance to meet all of you and toast in person.
