Hey everyone, I'm Bob, and new to the forum. I was going to look and test drive a 2003 SLK 320 yesterday, but my plans changed and never had a chance to get to the dealer. I was able to get there this morning ( dealers closed on Sundays ) and at least see the car. It looked very nice, all the glass was good, no dents, or rust body looked very straight. A few small rock chips on the front, that's to be expected on a 11 yr old car. looked like it had brand new rotors and pads all around and 2 new rear tires, fronts were not new but had good tread. Interior from what I could see though the windows looked great, nice wood trim on the steering wheel and around the radio controls and shifter. Also looked under the car and from what I could tell it looked good, the exhaust had no rust, shocks had no leaks, and saw no oil residue around the engine or transmission. I'm really on the fence on this, just cant seem to make up my mind, it will be a daily driver, 100 miles a day to and from work, mostly in spring, summer, and fall, not sure how it would handle snow. Also I'm about 6' 3" tall not sure if I would even fit in it, a lot of small cars are a tight fit for me, guess I'll have to sit in it to know for sure. It has 75,000 miles and they are asking $10851
Take care, Bob

Hi Bob, a warm welcome from Southern Arizona. Good to have you on board. I've heard that 6'-3" will fit, I have a 2007 model and at 6'-0" and 250 pounds have no problem. Enjoy the people, the forum, and top down cruisin' once you get your SLK.

Hi Bob, once again, welcome to the forum from the UK Midlands!

The SLK 320 you've found sounds great. I have no idea whether that's a fair price or not, but it sounds like you definitely need to drive it. I only recently got my SLK so I can't say what it's going to be like to drive in the snow... although I have owned several MB and other German rear wheel drive cars, so I'm not expecting the SLK to be great in the snow (although I'm told that winter tyres help significantly).

If you're going to be keeping either the Subaru or Ford Explorer, then I'm assuming this wouldn't be a deal-breaker for you anyway...
