Hello SLK World,
This is my introductory message to the forum. I have owned the following Mercedes Benzes since 1993:
1) 86 420 SEL traded for C220 below;
2) 95 C220 (after 154K miles, I regrettably sold the car - today I would have replaced the fuel pump - low fuel pressure, given my better understanding of the procedure);
3) 93 300E (this was going to be my DC commute car, however, it was rear-ended and totaled within a couple of months of my ownership - no whiplash experienced during the crash due to the superior seat design, however);
4) 03 SLK 320 sport (6-speed Man) - Pewter Silver Metallic - (have replaced CrPS, MAF, hood shock, battery, head/tail lights - indie replaced fan controller, all hydraulic actuators except for the trunk lift actuators, idler pulley, serpentine belt, trunk shocks, coolant reservoir and regular maintenance) - currently at 103K miles, purchased at 59K.
5) 03 SLK 230 (auto) - Firemist Red car that I am taking over - currently experiencing the dreaded "start error" issue after the vehicle's battery died and driver's side rear window regulator frame pulley failure (assembly has fallen into the body cavity below). Unfortunately, this car has a checkered history as my indie has performed maintenance to correct sensor issues that resulted from the PO's accident (undisclosed at the time of sale)- currently at 57K miles.
Right now, I am looking into purchasing the MB SD Connect C4 Multiplexer setup (with offline license, no expiry) as I would like to know why the codes are corrupted and not being authorized as well as troubleshooting/programming the DAS/RF module.
The SLK World portal is a wealth of knowledge on all things Mercedes SLK. My fellow members have contributed greatly to the excellence of this forum.
Best Regards,
Ken Dorsey
