Hello fellow SLK-ers! Just purchased my car online and am getting to know it. I benchmarked these when new when I worked at Opel in Germany and have always wanted one since. It will join my vintage 230SL, so I now have two 230s!

I really appreciate all of the useful information on the blog, especially when it comes to fixing the interior. My car's mechanicals and exterior are fine, but the car spent its life in sunny areas and the interior shows it. I'd eventually like to repaint the interior to bring it back its OEM appearance. All of the info here is very helpful.

Hi Lowell, I live in GA but have family and friends in New Mil, Goshen, and Warren. I've repainted two interiors, if you take your time and remove everything, and collect all the broken bits, and you take your time epoxying everything back together and carefully stripping the old paint (even just hot water works), then any plastic paint from the parts store will make vast, vast improvements. I can't stress enough to collect even the tiniest broken bits, and get creative with washers and epoxy where the bits are lost. And don't put a huge and heavy radio in the dash, it will hasten the demise of your efforts.
