AutoBodyMan Here .. 45 years in the Biz , Semi retired.
I only work on my own cars these days ..
I'm a Metal Man which means I am capable of actualy REPAIRING And Fabricating metal parts.. As in Hammer, Dolly, Pull, Heat, Shrink, Weld, English Wheel... This is becoming a lost art..
Nowadays, seems BodyMen are, more and more, just Parts Replacers..

I'm a huge fan of fun Roadsters. I've owned many including a couple early 60's M-B 190's !!
I Wish I still had THEM !!!! ..
$250k ??!!!? Whoda Thunk that ?

I recently bought at an Auction a Totaled SLK 230 with 73000 miles.. Wrecked in the Front end.
So I'll be writing a detailed post with many pictures of the process of doing a high quality repair on this vehicle.
Should be fun..

Welcome to SLKWorld.com: The #1 Mercedes-Benz SLK Forum from Valrico, Florida!

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.
Post your vin in the Vehicle Datacard Request section to get a free datacard (options on your car). You must update your profile with vehicle info and your location and post an introduction first.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have some work ahead of you. Sounds like you know what you're doing, but good info here if you get hung up anywhere.

Central Florida now, but grew up in Dayton.

Hi and welcome from central Florida.

Please update your location/vehicle (model and year) in your profile as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information.

New on here myself, have a 230k as well. Looks like a fair amount of work ahead. As long as you have the time looks a great project. Best of luck.

Welcome aboard...

I agree... re body work.. what little metal work is being done seems to be 99% bondo.. I knew a guy that could make art from sheet aluminium (for aircraft).

Yep , My avatar is myself with Scotty Crossfield, who I worked with on the Centennial of flight in 2003, in front of his 210. He , sadly, was killed in that airplane about 3 years later.. flew into a storm at age 85
