Just bought my '98 SLK 230 a couple weeks ago and have been heavily enjoying it! I've been lurking here since I bought the car (lots of helpful info!) and finally decided to start posting. :)

It has a venerable 168,000 miles on it so there was (and is) lots to do!

-Initial oil/filter change
-Cabin Air filter
-Engine Air filter
-Differential fluid swap
-Radio headunit swap/upgrade (upgraded to Pioneer DEH-X6600BS)
-Headlight restoration

To Do:
-Fuel Filter (I already have parts for this)
-Supercharger oil
-Transmission fluid (Maybe? Not sure if worth the risk)
-Interior wet sand and repaint
-Valve cover (grey) and engine cover panel #1 (red) wet sand and repaint
-Buy missing engine cover panel #2 (grey, MB logo on it) and paint if not already painted
-Closely inspect brake pads/rotors (they looked fine a week ago but they do squeak a bit.)
-Repair splitting seams in seats (sew bolsters; reupholster seat pad of driver's seat)
-Add phone mount.
-Reattach cupholder cover (and maybe buy a cupholder unit because it isn't there!)
-Fix loose panels in doors and center console.
-SmartTOP mod.
-Full detailing!

and in 30k miles:

-Timing Chain
-Spark plugs

By winter:

-Winter tires
-Tire socks
