So made a purchase of a lovely well kept 250 on Wednesday and I’m sure I checked every inch but when I got home (2hr drive in 30 deg. plus temps) I found these on my glass roof!!
They look like stress cracks to me but was wondering if the heat could have done them?
Anyway, advice please :
  • Are they safe
  • Shall I leave as is
  • Should I wrap the roof, in doing this I would lose the benefit of panoramic roof
  • Can I get a replacement glass and fit myself
  • Would Insurance cover replacement if claimed under accidental damage
Thanks

Not tried this, but spotted an advert for glue that leaches into glass cracks and makes them disappear.
Whether compatible, or even true I do not know.

^ Handy to know for any other members with the issue.
Check your insurance policy like David did.

I don't recall anyone else with the issue discovering this.

How fortunate....will you have to pay a deductible? Reason I ask is that we have a $1,000 USD deductible on our cars.

Well as it’s under the Windscreen Section then the excess I have to pay is £75, I am still waiting for the insurance to try and wriggle out of this but it’s written down in their policy booklet so there is a good argument here for me
