Help Please....on my way to work the gas pedal stopped responding on my 2004 SLK320. I could drive with the cruise control and it seemed to work fine, but nothing from gas pedal, even when floored. I stopped at a gas station and found that after pushing the pedal down and holding it in one position for a long 5 count, it would suddenly accelerate, so I was able to get the rest of the way to work this morning by using that little trick. It has never acted up this way before. I don't have much money right now, so taking it to the MB dealer is my last option. Any helpful advice???

Thanks,
Steve

Update

After reading some posts about shutting the car off resetting something, I went out to the parking lot and started her up. Now the gas pedal seems to be working fine, just like it always has. I'm not sure whether to be happy about this or not, as it may decide to flake out again at an inopportune time, such as passing several cars on a 2-lane road. At least maybe it will keep working for me until I can figure out what to replace and scrape the money together to buy the needed part(s). I might also add that there are no warning lights on the dash, even after restarting.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Steve

Well Steve, besides doing the 3 finger salute and reboot the car (disconnect the battery for 30 mins minimum to allow the system/computer to power down, guess you wait and see
