it can't be a spare one because the whole car won't work without it.
When the fuse blows the dashboard goes full disco mode. BAS ASR light comes on and the starter motor won't turn over.
Eventually replaced the fuse, drove 50 meters and it happened again. I replaced it AGAIN because drove it very carefully to a free parking zone no problems. I decided to tow it home because I was afraid this would happen on the motorway. so I thought because the BAS ASR light came up it has something to do with the traction control. Is this right?
p.s. could anyone provide me with a circuit diagram for my car?
Hi. What month is your car? I ask because according to WebETM:
- On cars before 1st June 1998 F16 is a spare.
- On cars after as of 1st June 1998, F16 (30A) feeds "Circuit 15 fused power output, supplies exterior rearview mirror system"
- On much later cars, F16 seems to protect the Brake Booster Pump.
So even Web ETM isn't sure. I'd look at the wiring around the wingmirrors and see if any of it shorts to ground. Do they both adjust OK?
