Excellent way to get around the problem of MB not readily tuning factory-new Ecu's. (as far as I have been told by my local MB dealership when inquiring about the price of an OEM factory ECU)

The tune from speedtuningusa.com was more badass than I expected, engine characteristics were totally different, and later I noticed I even clocked 34mpg on the highway which i couldnt even believe as I opted for the powertune, not the greentune(mpg tune) (also, keep in mind I had supersprint headers and a Cat delete)

Wasnt able to break 34mpg though. :) Loved showing the stat to my friends with "green" cars and ppl w/prius's.

Pm me an offer if your interested, I'd like to get 75% msrp price if possible, and feel free to msg me about anything.

Very Respectfully,

Dave

Im sure it is not a plug-n-play type of deal, but a dealership or tuner should have no problems matching it to your car, i will find out.

I will do some research and then let you know what the tuner says.

Tuner, maybe. Mercedes, no way. ECU is a theft controlled part VIN coded to a car. After married, there's no way to divorce it and re-marry it to another car in the official Mercedes tools.

Thanks for the input John, definitely hit the nail on the head, the dealership here where im at informed me about a guy who had some trouble with MB not readily programming his new ECU even though he ordered and bought it no problems right from the same place that he later got denied programming for it.

Here's a response from Oliver, at speedtuningusa regarding my inquiry on the subject:

---------------------------------------

Hello Dave,

That’s right we will need to synchronize the immo for whoever would buy your ECU and I guess you would need to do the same if you are getting another ECU for your SLK? What are your plans with your SLK?

Best regards,
Oliver
