Last night was driving on the highway when off the car in front of me a truck retread that he just hit, flips up in the air and lands in front of my car, I am going about 70 or so. I have no choice but to run it over. It broke up the left side of my front bumper. Also some of the plastic that holds the fog light in place.

I need to get a new bumper now.
I called the only local junk yard that has one, they want $350 for a red one, my car is silver, so if I got that it would have to be repainted. I haven't seen it, but I assume it's probably not in super mint condition anyways. I think if it was silver I would probably just got that route and call it a day as long as it wasn't broken.

I have seen the duraflex aftermarket ones selling for about $300 with shipping. Not sure what to expect with this. Needs painting obviously. Anyone get a duraflex? If so, where did you get it from?

Local dealer has new ones for $450. Also, needs painting. I suppose if I did go this option I could have a perfect original bumper after I get it painted.

I don't really want to go through insurance, they just lowered my rate by a lot. I just went through an insurance claim from my teenager a year ago which forced me to change carriers because of the way they handled it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, I have been on car-part.com. The closest yard with a bumper wants $350 for it. The next closest yard with a front r170 bumper is over 200 miles away.

I called back the pickapart place that was an hour away. They agreed to sell me the bumper for $250. I went there and found that it was pretty jacked up. From the pics they had in their system when the car had arrived the front bumper was in good shape, however now, it was in bad shape. The engine had been removed and the wheels were gone and the front end was laying on the ground. The bumper was broken in several places. They pointed me to a 230 model. The bumper on the 230 was quite different that the 320. This one was in better shape, but still had some damage in places and was broke in one place.
