Front braked

Hi trieste find my problem in forums but have not come across it. In traffic my front brakes have started creaking when stopping no squel. I might be wrong in guessing it is brakes. Any ideas to check as it is now out of warranty

creaking would usually be springs, suspension, hinges/joints, etc like maybe your roof.
does it happen with roof up or down?
driver's side or passenger side or both?
