There's just been an interesting article on BBC news saying that very few people are aware that under the 1979 sale of goods act, all products bought in the UK are covered for 6 years, excepting misuse and fair wear & tear.

One thing to remember is that even if you don’t have a warranty at all, you’ll be covered by the Sale Of Goods Act. This says that an item should be; of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

If it’s not, you can ask for your money back or ask for a replacement. The seller is actually bound by this act for up to 6 years after the sale of the goods!
Should have interesting results:):)

Very intresting indeed thanks mate, i wonder if somebody has sat down and read the act in detail as you can bet the manufacturers have, in particular i notice the 'up to 6 years' comment.

I will await the first customer with article in hand.
