Been saying this for a decade now. US and many other countries playing checkers while China has been playing chess. The way the world economy is set up, and China's willingness to wreck the environment to gain a competitive edge, means China will most likely be the lead world power in the not distant future unless smarter heads prevail in other countries. That seems unlikely to happen, so we will all sit and watch a dictatorship rise to dominance over the world stage.

I did not post this from any political viewpoint but from the environmental impact of the extraction of the rare earths so that people can be smug in their so called environmentally friendly electric cars using renewable energy.

We like to steer clear of politics here.

But the definition of green is questionable at present.
For a truly green environment simply exclude humans.

Advertisers now see the value in a green label.
They travel the world & film in exotic locations to sell green cars etc.

One solar flare might resolve the whole market.
Electric and hydrocarbon.
