Anybody else fed up with this weather we are having in the Uk at the moment.

Rain followed by heavy rain, then rain, followed by light rain, then rain, rain, rain.

Want to go out for a blast bored now.

Rant over (sorry)

Surely the UK must be water-logged by now...no wonder you are stir-crazy.

.and isn't it ghastly for those folk who are suffering flooding..really sorry for them.

Seems like some of your rain has arrived here in this part of France..with high winds as well.. so it should be interesting, to say the least, over the next few days. My SLK is warmly wrapped and safe indoors...I, on the other hand, must don wellington boots and a huge mackintosh to struggle up the road to fulfill my obligations.

One really good thing about this weather.. is that we are forced to consume any number of hot-toddies to keep the chills at bay...:wink::wink:

If we were not an island before, we would be by now.

Just think how much more you'll enjoy summer driving. So much better in warm rain showers.

Is enough that the weather is bad but now my wife car broke down so she is using my car since a week. I miss my car =))
One fond memory of a UK weather forecast during an unseasonably dry Summer a few years back:

"Disastrous drought conditions prevail. Even if it rains for the next 4 months, we can never replenish the reservoirs etc." whereupon it rained solidly for a week and everyone moaned....:wink::wink:

Despite the rain here today, Clive is not complaining.. I have just spent the afternoon making my special chocolates... yummy:x (and he has licked the bowl clean)

Hi All
Come on we have not had the annual two day UK wide shut down when more than four flakes of snow fall within the same postcode . Bring wide spread panic & a milk & bread shortage .

Cheers

Hi All
Think yourselves lucky I work in a very old factory pre-WWII & in the past if we had a heavy rain storm we would have a flood that came down the factory as it on a slow hill , Just like the Severn Bore , We would open the drain covers & sweep the water down the drains . Lucky for us we will be moving to a new building very soon.

Cheers

Had some snow today in Edinburgh. This weather is really hampering playing golf and maintenance / driving.

On the plus side, I am looking to buy a R171 so hoping that I can prise one off someone's hand at better price. Fingers crossed. Waiting for a call from an independent dealer tomorrow about one I test drove last week, some room for negotiation I think.

Not that I am panicking.. but they are updating the meteo every 2 hours for my part of France.. and it is now looking quite hairy... :frown::frown::frown:

We get to hone our skills at smooth driving, reading the road and figuring the limits of our slks.

I was wondering how bad it could be, having seen some worrying posts. Spent 45mins driving in torrential rain and floods the other day.
I'm impressed how well it behaved. It did lose traction a couple of times, but warned me first.

No doubt it helps that I used to ride bikes in all weathers. I even rode a brand new vfr from London to Chester after a couple of weeks of snow.
The cars that I drove in the early days behaved far worse than the slk.

I know snow will be a bigger challenge. But can it be any worse than a mk1 Capri with raised suspension and fat tyres on the back?
Doubt it.

Don't get me wrong, top down driving in the sun is best, but I just enjoy this little car regardless of the weather (now the boot is fixed).

Having lived abroad and visited many places around the world, I categorically like the weather in southern England. It's comfortable most of the time and allows for stunningly beautiful countryside, throughout the seasons. As far as rainfall is concerned, we're almost a desert!:

There have been a number (too few I admit ) of accurately forecasted 'weather windows' & not being obliged to work have taken advantage of them. So much so that bumbling about with the roof up, enjoying the warmth & some good grooves has been a pleasant novelty. Convertible one minute coupe the next - matters could be worse.

I'm tempted to another rant on the title of this thread!
The UK has certainly had its share of rain recently and England (being part of, but not the whole of, the UK) has certainly had some atrocious weather. Here in Edinburgh we haven't yet had snow, but the rain and winds have if anything been worse.
Still, we are making it through winter and the top down days will soon (I hope) be here!
