Hi
Our (R170)SLK 230 kompressor has an engine management light fault on. Investigation revealed fault code P2031(I think) which showed upstream oxygen sensor fault. This sensor has been replaced but fault light,although cleared, several times, keeps coming back on. Have also replaced the downstream oxygen sensor to no avail.
The original upstream sensor had an oily substance on the plug end & around the ECU(according to my mechanic friend) which we think may be related,a lthough its been cleaned up.

Has anybody got any ideas how to rectify this problem?
