I sat in my 320 today and slowly revved up (once it was warm) when I got to 4200 rpm there was a big shake. As I revved abit more it shook more, like a big misfire, the whole car wobbled, it almost felt like the engine tried to jump out of the car. Is this normal? Is it a rev limiter? Any ideas what would cause this please?
To be honest I wouldn't know, it has done 145000 miles and I do have lots of receipts but none for an engine or trans mount. Would this be a symptom I would get then? I have a Zafira with a front engine mount worn and I can feel the movement in that when I drive but this is like a big lurch, never felt one like this before. Maybe it's because it's a bigger engine so it jerks more than my Zafira?
my guess is it knows when you are sitting still. and of course, as others are saying - if your worried about the shaking part of it, then you might have worn mounts.
Thanks for the replies, I will check it out tomorrow when there's more light and see if I can see any engine movement, hopefully it is just a mount which is nice and easy to change and nothing more serious thanks again I appreciate your input.
