Finally got off the fence after almost 2 years of contemplating this purchase. Placed the order today!

I was quoted by Eisenmann a build time of approximately 5 weeks. That puts me taking delivery by mid to end of August 2013, hopefully taking into account the shipping from Germany to me here in Florida.

I chose the RACE version of the muffler with the dual 83mm round tips. After messing around in Photoshop for countless hours, I decided that the round tips should look pretty good on my car.

I looked all over YouTube for videos of a 32 with this exhaust but could not find any so I honestly have no clue how it will sound. There are plenty of videos showcasing 230s and 320s with it, but not a 32.

So I will plan on making before and after videos for fun. I've always wanted to use a GoPro camera on my car while driving.

I'll update this thread with them after install.

Here's the exhaust I ordered:

Hi Jae,
Curious to know how it sounds and what you paid...Eisenmann is very proud of their mufflers! Are you removing resonators or leaving in? Please post sound clips before and after... /CK

Finally received the exhaust.

However, it's not the exhaust I ordered. I specifically ordered the dual round 83mm tips and they built me one with the 90x60mm dual ovals. Not sure what they will be willing to do for me since these units are custom made per order. The company is in Germany, the distributor is in Arizona, and their warehouse is in Illinois, while I'm in Florida.

No one is going to eat any cost, they're going to fix it. It's a high ticket customized order that is WRONG, clearly. If your direct contact made the order for you, then they will be kind enough to make a phone call for you OR at least provide a phone number and a name to get a hold of through them using their name and vendor number.

Don't sit on this, make the call!

And another thing..

No matter which credit card you used, you should be able to dispute the charge if the order was incorrect. I know for a fact that american express and paypal will be more than happy to assist you if you make a claim aganst them. Start keeping track of your correspondance now because you are NOT going to eat that cost. That's absurd.

I once paid for an $8000 item that was misrepresented and not only did I get to make a claim against them, when they refused paypals instruction to take posession of the item once shipped over seas I ended up with my money BACK and the item, of which I turned around and re-sold for a $4k profit.

Chop chop...start making those calls.

They should clearly fix it! You have all papers on hand supporting that it's the wrong order. Contact the seller and tell them you got the wrong order. if they refuse to fix it then you should file a dispute through your bank as chicky said. One option they might suggest is giving you some discount for inconvenience =)
Never thought they would mess up $1,500 order...
I came across IND Distributions and Beastpower as the only Eisenmann sellers in US and still want one!!! But IND Distributions got me worried right now...

This is a high ticket custom item, not only will it be made to order, but it will be expedited and shipped much sooner than 5 weeks. Also, you make them provide the RMA number and shipping label to pay for the cost of return to wherever they want it sent. End of story.. don't be willy nilly about this either. Be nice, but be firm. AND you explain to them that you're on a deadline. Tell them you require it a week minimum before the meet, this gives you wiggle room.

Wow, that's aggravating after such a long wait. I actually prefer the oval tips to the round ones, but you should make sure you get what you paid for.

Ok I called and left a voicemail for my salesman at Vivid racing. Then I phoned IND Distribution and explained my situation to them.

By the time I got back to the office from lunch, I received a call from my salesman saying he heard my voicemail and had received an email from IND Distribution regarding my issue. Very cool.

He explained that I could either keep the one I have now or he can get another one built for me.

I opted for the latter.

He is also going to give me a return shipping label to return the incorrect unit.

However, since Eisenmann manufactures all exhausts for AMG + some other brands, it may take another 5 weeks. He will see about having me "cut into the production schedule" and get it done sooner since it is a mistake at the factory (distributor blamed factory for the mixup, figures).

Anyway, it sounds like everything is taken care of, just waiting again ... sucks.

Believe me, I went back and forth for the longest time on this lol. A part of me just wants to say "screw it" and bolt the sucker on and call it a day.

The thing that I don't like is that the Eisenmann dual oval tips are way smaller than the stock AMG oval tips. 90mm wide vs 120mm (AMG). It makes the exhaust took *tiny* in that cutout space.

The dual round tips are both 83mm dia. Although it's even narrower, it is significantly taller and looks more fitting to me when installed for some reason.

Even though the exhaust tips are smaller than the stock AMG tips, that's just the tip opening diameter (the part you can see). The stock AMG exhaust has dual pipes, with only 45mm dia. each. Put both together and that equates to 3,179 sq. mm of opening. These pipes are then welded onto 120mm wide tips with the AMG logo.

The Eisenmann is 83mm dia. round or 90x60mm oval all the way to the exhaust body, or 10,815 sq. mm. of exhaust opening for the round, 8,478 sq. mm. for the oval.

At least you're going to get what you ordered.. and they'll pay for the return. See.. it's like magic. Throw a little more good karma into the mix and perhaps you'll get it sooner [waves her fairy dusted wand around].

Pretty impressed with their customer service...
Eisenmann's US distributor really stepped up to handle the mistake. I asked them what the chances are to express-build the replacement...

Jae,

Eisenmann Germany has a whole division dedicated to their aftermarket exhausts. So it would not disturb the AMG production at all. I have already sent them an email regarding this so hopefully by tomorrow we can get a better ETA.

Luckily you had bought through a master dealer so getting this sorted out is much easier and we personally like to help directly if there is an issue.

Will keep you updated.
And the very next morning,

Jae,

Received an update by Eisenmann Germany.

We will air freight your correct exhaust on Friday the 6th. We should see the system to us on 11th once it clears customs. We will then inspect it and ship it out directly to you.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to ask.
So basically they are going to build the exhaust in 1 week's time instead of 5.
