Hi. I collect my 2013 SLK 250 AMG SPORT next week and just trying to navigate all the features. Does the ECO stop/start feature automatically apply/disengage the electronic parking brake?

Only if the brake pedal is pressed such that the ‘brake hold’ function is activated. https://www.mbhuntington.com/how-to-use-the-mercedes-benz-brake-hold-function/#
The parking brake can be overridden at switch off by pulling on the brake switch whilst switching off and removing the key. I use that feature if the brakes are wet or the car is to be parked (on the flat in the garage) for long periods.

When you turn the engine off or open the driver's door, the parking brake will engage. However, putting the car in gear will disengage the parking brake. The ECO start-stop does not engage the parking brake.

IF you have that feature as Chuck (GBarringer) says. Get your FREE data card so we can better advise.

Just need your VIN and click here
All Auto 172s have 'brake hold' AFAIK
It was/is a standard feature.
Not sure about manual trans though.

Thankyou 😊

There seems to be some confusion on the brakes.

One, there is the BRAKE HOLD. The HOLD will occur when you depress the brake pedal hard. Once stopped, you can remove your foot from the pedal, and the brakes will still hold the car, yes the brake lights will remain on. It will remain on hold until you depress the brake or gas pedal.

Two, there is the PARKING BRAKE. The PARKING BRAKE will engage by depressing the Park button on the console. Opening the driver's door will engage the PARKING BRAKE. Put the car into gear Drive, or Reverse will disengage the PARKING BRAKE, or there is a level on the lower dash you can use.

Both of these are standard on the 172. The very first 172 might not have had these features. On another form, a person wrote about having the first year 172. He stopped in the driveway, got out to get a paper in the driveway, and the car drove away and ran into the garage. He did not put it in the park; opening the door function did not put it in the park. He did not have or use the brake hold.

My '12 does not put it on. Purely a manual "push button on/off" feature.

Same as Leo's. Manual push button on/off only.
