Hi friends,

I'm planning on moving to LA from Portland this Saturday.
My friends told me I will have to deal with snow on the way (I'm an international student, just move to the US 2 years ago and have no idea what happens around :( )

So I rent a uhaul truck with my SLK on the trailer and drive to LA this Sunday Dec 8th.
Should I buy wheel chain? Any recommendation? (Best time to leave Portland, stop or non stop driving? How to deal with snow?)
I will be driving there with a friend so we can drive non stop.
All the best :rb:rb:rb

It's been a while, but if you stay along the coast you should be fine. Just stay out of the mountains.
HB?
So which road do you recommend me to take, from zip 97202 to 91754. I'm not quite sure I know the coast road. I'm planning on just follow I5 South.
thank you.

I would suggest that you do a google map and check traffic before you leave.
Also query if there are any sig alerts on the route you select.

Yes... just stay on the interstate...especially towing the SLK.
It seems like I should stay on the I5 for about 6-7hrs then I should change to 199s. Many ppl told be if I take I5. There's gonna be a lot of snow. Anyone has driven across west coast?

Look up "Caltrans" for current road conditions in Calif.
