Door Sill removal

3707 Views 19 Replies 15 Participants Last post by  LIL DON SLK
Hi everyone I have a nice low mileage 2003 SLK 320 and in an effort to keep it tidy I would like to remove the sill covers to remove accumulated dirt and check for corrosion.
Any tips on going about removing the plastic sill covers
Thanks

Hi, welcome from Barrhead, Scotland.
On the pre-FL R170, just pull up on it. It is held in place by friction only. No nuts or bolts. They are quite tight the first time you remove them, but get easier each time.

Mercedes OUTSIDE ATTACHMENT PARTS
Our American cousins call them rocker panels not sills. high chance of breaking the small clips so you will need part numbers to replace
