Nope. Provided we are talking OEM rims here, MB rims have a ball/radius seating.

For M14 bolts the radius is 14 mm and for M12 bolts the radius is 12 mm.
So you not only can't interchange tapered bolts with rims that have a ball/radius seating but you also need to take in account the boltsize itself. M12 or M14.
As said there are special bolts for fitting rims meant for M14 bolts to a car that uses M12 bolts.

Thanks all, so basically if the are r172 oem wheels, i will need new bolts, and also the right length thread and diameter

Doing th is myself at the moment and the a dive has been superb. Just one other question. What do you do about the 2mm difference in the hole size of the wheel itself?

Nothing. Wether the space between bolt and hole in rim is 0.1,1,2 or 10 mm does not matter. What matters is torque and correct bolt for the seating in the rim. That's what keeps the wheel on your car.
