I have not had any requests to help since the site changed. I also noticed I'm no longer getting emails with notifications. Perhaps I need to adjust some settings here?

Thanks

Bat signal. I corrected it. I can come to the site and see I have alerts, but no longer get the email which would bypass all of that and take me straight to the forum in question.

there are like 2 sections in your account settings for emails...alerts and

Email options
  • Receive news and update emails
  • Receive email when a new conversation message is received
so check both

Got it. I also get the "Trending posts from SLKWorld.com" Just not getting alerts when someone tags me or sends me a PM. I checked my Spam folder to, so it's not on my end.

Is no one else having the issue?

hm.. I did. It just went to my regular email and not where the old ones used to go ("forums" section). And now it's labeled Mercedes SLK World (not Mercedes Benz SLK Forum). so perhaps I just need re-categorize the new emails. Now I see a couple that I got from Dave2302 in early December.

I still have not been sent an email saying that you replied to this thread though. It's not a huge deal, I can manage.

Looks like the forum administrators are looking at a new method to 'alert' us of mentions in a post (the old way we used to see the 'bat signal'.

The latest site update offers 'site push notiifcations' to provide this - something I am not in favour of, but it's what they offer...

It is one of the niggles that I'm having with the new system.

As a mod, I often request help on behalf of other members.

Alerts gets full quickly AND you have to sift through them.

Unfortunately, this is going to be how it is with mentions.

That's yet another retrograde step then. Easy for them - and, if not controlled, it's a more intrusive channel for spam messages (aka adverts, click-bait etc) than email.

I disable site notifications for all sites by default, but we may have to be selective with SLKWorld to get back the cameraderie we had before with mentions.

A question: the 'Premium Membership' they talk about. Will that apply to existing 'Premium' members or will we need to re-apply / be billed for this?

when your premium expires, you will need to sign up for another premium or lifetime, depends on what is offered
if a lifetime already, u stay a lifetime
