The last owner of my car treated the dash with ArmorAll or some such silicone product, so I have a real fear that the black dash in the harsh Florida sun might be susceptible to cracking. Using Pinnacle interior detailer should help, but I don't know how long this 2006 dash was treated with this stuff. On hot days, the dash seems to exude whatever it was. I am considering using a decent-looking DashMat, but I am wondering if anyone has a better suggestion.

I would give a good cleaning after that a good thin rub of Carnauba wax and let it soak in. If you have a good Detail Shop just swing by and have a chat with him/her a lot of times they uses products that you will not find in your local auto store and they might be kind enough to order it for you.

I would use a microfiber and some soapy water and try to wash all the old residue off. To prevent damage from UV use 303 protectant. You can find it in auto parts stores or Amazon.

You might need some specialist cleaner to help you get all that silicon off. Have a talk with your friendly detailing products supplier.

I use Gtechniq C6 Matte Dash which includes a UV protectant.
