Hello everyone. I just bought a 2001 SLK 230, and it's the first car I've owned that has a different wheel offset from front to back wheels.

I'd like to buy a set of custom wheels for it but in the price range I'd like to spend, there are no offset choices for a particular wheel.

Specifically, the specs for the car show the front wheels are 7" wide with a 37mm offset, and the rears are 8" wide with a 30mm offset.

The wheels I'm looking at are only available at 7.5" wide with a 38mm offset. The front wheels should be fine but the back wheels will set 8mm closer to the body. (Minus the narrower width of course).

The guy I talked to at Tire Rack said they'll be fine but I thought I'd ask here first.

Assuming same width tires front and back will the difference in offset be that noticeable? 8mm is a little over 1/4" so I'm probably good, but I want to hear how folks here are handling it.

Thanks!
