So, It seems the car i got has non standard/after market wheels from a maker that is now gone. The wheels have a non standard 7 spline lug bolt on it (no tire shop in my area had the keys for it). I am not able to get the key size. I have ordered a few different sizes that i could find online... but by the time they come i was wondering if anyone here has any idea on what i should get?

I am attaching the pics of the wheel and the lug bolt. Any help in identifying for what i need would be great.

I have already visited major tire/wheel shops and some used parts shops as well,no luck. They all tried the standard ones n nothing works.
The one that seems to be a fit in size wise, was the 23mm gorilla hex key, but offcourse it didnt work cus its a hex spline and my bolt is 7 spline.

Everyone is saying that this being a lug bolt, hammering n all is not a good option since it would destroy the wheel hub. I am not sure how to take the wheels off, at this point i'd rather just replace the damned 7 spline lug bolts with regular ones, but cant find a good way of taking the wheels off.

Looking forward to some one knowing the answer :)

I have welded open end nuts on lugs like this. Do the welding in the inside open (where the treaded bolt/stud would be if the nut were screwed to a bolt/stud) area and once welded use a socket sized to the nut to remove the nut and lug together. Use the largest nut you can fit in the area and still get a socket on it with ease. The larger the nut the more open the thread area will be, which will allow for more weld to hold the nut to the lug.

Depending on the design of the wheel, standard lugs may or may not fit the lug hole properly. You should have an option (replacement wheels or such) at the ready if standard lugs do not fit the wheel properly. It is not safe to drive the car with improperly fitted lug bolts.

Since you are willing to destroy those bolts, won't the reverse threaded drill bits (same you use to extract broken bolts) work?

Along this same line are impact sockets that go over the outside and bite in when removing. The largest I could find on a quick search were for 19mm (3/4") nuts. I have a set and they do a decent job and no drilling required.

Once you have completed the 5 hour job of drilling,welding,hammering, swearing, sweating and crying to get the 4 wheels off ......

The matching key socket will quietly roll out from where it's been hiding!

Thanks :)

Yeah this is one of the last options i have... if all runs out the ill try getting em out using this method.

Do i have to worry about excessive heat in these parts though?

No, the welding a nut on to the end is the way to go if you need to. The bolt will take the heat. Don't go too crazy so the wheel gets a lot.

A happy update here. I and a friend of mine were able to take the splined bolts in out. We had to lightly hammer on this https://www.brandsport.com/excl-98-0410.html on to the bolts and we were able to take them out. Took us about 20 mins to get the 4 bolts out. Once we took a bolt out it took a little effort to separate the key out. Thanks for the advice guys... I'm so glad the bolts came out without much of a fight 😃
