I have a 1998 SLK230 (88k miles) that is stored during the winter. Yesterday when I went to get it out of storage, the battery was dead. Replaced the battery, and she started right up. However, there are some weird things happening. First, the cooling fan goes on as soon as the key moves to position 2 and stays on. Also, the warning light on the dash (that looks like wiper fluid) is illuminated. We checked coolant and wiper fluid levels and both are fine). The battery light is also on.

Anybody have any potential solutions, particularly for the cooling fan? Note that the car is running perfectly. It's not getting hot, nor is it experiencing lag or reduced power. I just can't figure out why the fan is running on cold start. I've owned this car for 8 years and have never experienced this. It's also worth noting that I live in a very small town. No MB shop for a few hundred miles.

Thanks.
