Comfort Mode & Sport Mode

With regards to the above. What do the different modes change?

I have read - Sport mode increases throttle response to help you accelerate faster. It also changes the transmission programming to shift at higher, more performance-oriented RPM than normal. Lastly, the Electric Power Steering assist will adjust to give you a sportier driving feel at road speeds.

Does it actually unlock the full power for the car? For example the full BHP.
Could someone explain how it works and everything that it does when you press Comfort and Sport.

There is huge power difference when you put it in sports mode. The sound is even more incredible.

I have read some posts on here. I vary between them. Usually comfort on motorways and sport on country roads. Use both in urban areas, usually sport in tunnels or anywhere you get a good echo

Thanks

True that! That is all it does.
I read it in my owner's manual! :D

http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalAssets/pdfmb/ownersmanual/2005_slk350_slk55amg.pdf

page 158 and 164 for AMG

Sport mode is much better than C mode, faster throttle response and holds the gears longer. I find that S mode is much better for fuel consumption, as C tries to keep as smooth a ride and as low revs as possible so changes early.

the difference between comfort mode and sports mode is that comfort mode accelerates from second gear and therefore, has a smoother, more subtle acceleration and also saves gas.

The owners manual also states that the car shifts into higher gear earlier when in comfort mode. In sport mode the car will hold each gear longer.

Sport replaced Standard Comfort replaced Winter

He may have to "upgrade" to paddles on the steering wheel, if he only has the buttons. "Paddling" is most useful when in M mode. One can almost say the paddles are the keys that change the engine "notes".
