I was about a mile into my commute this morning when the check engine light came on. A buddy used his code reader to discover these:
P2004 - intake manifold runner control stuck open (bank 1)
and
P0025 - camshaft position timing over retarded (bank 2)

I did a little searching and called the shop that does my maintenance hoping they would have a good idea of what's wrong. They want me to bring it in (to ring the register, maybe) but I just want to know
1) what am I looking at best case?
2) what am I looking at worst case?
3) If I drive it a while before having them empty my wallet, might I do damage?

if it burns a little more gas between now and then, I'm fine with that. Experts, please chime in and thanks in advance!

This is for p2004

p0025 is the solenoid magnet on the left side of the car looking from the front of the car. The bad news you need to remove steering wheel reservoir to change the magnet, good news with $110 you can change all of them. After changing them clean your engine harness plugs, mine was full of oil.

p2004 will use more gas but noting to worry about
p0025 worst case car will not start
