Hi all,

I checked the search function and didn't find any info ... sorry if this has already been asked ... but:

We have a 2013 SLK 350. The finish is Magno cashmere matte.

I only hand wash, ... two buckets etc. No waxing or buffing.

Question: what can/should I use to protect the paint, ... It there a UV protection or something I should be using?

I saw a product (matte paint sealant), ... is this something to use or not?

Thanks for any help or ideas ...

Christopher

you can get some Clearbra for the front bumper, grill, hood, headlights, mirrors, fenders, fog lights and anything left over

Careful:

1. Make sure the clear bra has the same mate finish as the OEM paint.
2. What happens to the matte paint when the clear bra is removed because it needs to be replaced?

IIRC, the matte finish paint is difficult to maintain in terms to keeping it completely smudge-free almost like the stainless steel on home appliances.

I would research more on-line and get more information on maintaining the custom matte finish from either MB paint department or from the manufacturer of the paint themselves.
