I'm a sucker for automobile television shows, so I looked forward to watching the new Speed Channel "Car Show" hosted by the former "Man Show" host Adam Carolla. Whoa....they were even featuring a review on the new R172 SLK. The show turned out to be a weak rip off of BBC's Top Gear.

Damn good thing there was nothing in reach I could toss at the TV. The entirety of the R172 review concerned the "chick car" thing. Each of the 4 moderators obviously had zero personal experience with the car. Their collective approach was a laughable bobble head tryst that included absolutely no informed opinions or factual information. If you're going to be a TV expert aren't you compelled to have a least one relevant comment?

I would write them a disparaging note, but I would probably get sued or investigated by Homeland Security. Lost 47 minutes of my life which I will never get back! Not sure if the episode is available on the Speed website, but I am sure if you watch you'll be ticked off too!

They should have said it is a "Chick Magnet"!!! Or instead, "Pxxxx Magnet"!!! I can't really spell out that word here, but it is what it is. Chicks like the car and so do I. That is what counts.

I think a lot of folks out there are just jealous because for whatever reasons they can not have one like you and I!!!! :biglaugh:

Touche Jeff! I recently turned 55 and proudly earned the nickname "Crabby Bear" at work!:biglaugh:

Yes...I've always liked Adam Corolla, but he is out of his element here!

I disagree 100% about the Top Gear ripoff comment. I watch hours and hours of TG and I think The Car Show deviated quite about from it. I mean yes they are both segment based car review shows so theres going to be many similarities, but to me it really doesnt feel like they're trying to be TG (which would be a HORRIBLE idea, cuz they never will be). That being said The Car Show has lots of flaws, mainly the segments feel rushed and the conversation feels forced. I think if they get a 2nd season and have time to hammer it out it should turn it into a decent show(better than TG america anyway).
