Coming home this evening along a dual carriage way with a consistent 40mph limit and plenty of speed cameras I had passed one car coming up to a roundabout and pressed on to the next set of lights. The car I passed pulled up alongside and another pulled up behind. The car behind started flashing his head lights and in the glare of my brake lights I saw a young lad driving with a girl beside him.

The lights change and I pull away sharpish but only to 40 mph leaving them both behind (there are two speed cameras on the stretch ahead to the next lights). The car that was beside me gets alongside me again and the car behind is now behind him. They both slow for the first camera and both then pull ahead when they pass it. I let them go as they are anxious to prove their cars are faster than an SLK. (I've started slowing by this point in anticipation of the second camera and I'm turning left at the next set of lights anyway). The car that was behind me cuts in front of me but doesn't slow and they both push ahead against each other straight past the second camera which does what it's supposed to do and flashes. Twice.

I laugh to myself and pull off left at the next lights. They may have some explaining to do in a week or two... >:D

That is just sinister! 馃ぃ馃ぃ馃ぃ 馃ぃ馃ぃ
Snigger.... SLK drivers have a dark side too, you know. 0:)

Funny thing is that in my 40+ years of driving I've been on both sides of that story. lol
Well I hope you got away with it!

I must say though that this episode (which could have turned nasty had I not turned off) and another later on in the journey when a lorry cut me up badly at a roundabout really shows that I ought to have a dashcam in the car....
