Hey All

I am looking at a SLK350 with the AMG body kit, 2005 with only 9000 miles on the clock. I love the way they look :).

Anyway, whats the oil team, is there anything that I should be looking for when buying one of these, does anything go wrong etc?

Thanks in advance for you feedback.

Cheers Head in New Zealand.

Welcome from NE England. - I've got an '04 350 with nearly 6K miles on it - no problems so far!! There was a problem with oil consumption on some of the early 350 engines - you'd have to get the engine number so we can check if it's one of the possibly troublesome ones.

Where abouts in NZ are you from? - I've worked quite a bit at the Naval Base in Devonport, and we have a sometimes very active (!) member from Hamilton.

Go get him JB!!

:)As Woolly stated, verify if it falls within the range with engines with potential oil consumption problems. Also verify the physical condition of the vehicle and any damage to include repairs and repainting. Also, check the service records to verify if the vehicle has been properly serviced.

The 2005 SLK350 oil consumption issue refers mainly to engine nos. at or below 272 9xx 30 058705.
