Ok I have done a search but can't find anything on this. When I squeeze the handle on my boot separator (R171) to move it out of the way, nothing happens. Looking underneath I can see the cables (like bicycle brake cables) that go to the catches but nothing happens. If I reach under and put my finger on the catch and press the separator immediately springs out of the way so the problem appears to be at the handle end. I am assuming the cables have either stretched or are no longer attached at the handle. Anyone have any experience of this?

Mine stopped working too, I removed it from the car and fixed it with epoxy IIRC.

Thanks Jeff. The divider pegs article looks to be what I want, I had already found the other one on search but that was not the issue.
