Too bad it was in Japanese and not in English!!!! :-(

In the beginning the SLK 55 AMG took the lead, but was overtaken............... IDK, maybe a better driver in the SLK55 AMG would have made a difference?

Also it was interesting that the Acura NSX steadily caught up. If the race was longer............many the NSX will win????? IDK???

Thats not a 55, its a 350.
I could not really tell due to the quality of the video on Youtube. How do you know for sure? From the hood fins missing or from the front silver grill fins instead of the blackened out.

Edit: Also the "title" of the video on Youtube said "............SLK350". So it is not SLK55 AMG. I was thinking..........how can the SLK55 AMG be so slow............... There was a video on FifthGear where they put the SLK55 AMG versus the SL550(not AMG version) and the SLK55 AMG was only a fraction of a second behind the SL 550.

The SLK55 was slower then an SL550? I would suspect otherwise with the SL running low 5s 0-60 and the SLK in the high 4s.

Power is very similar, i think 360 vs. 382? But weight wise the SLK is almost 1000 lbs lighter.

In the video when they showed the SLK it said SLK350, plus it didnt have the fins on the hood.

Check this out:

Although I would think with a different driver the SLK55 AMG will win.R)

The gal in the video isn't the smoothest driver I have seen. Oversteer with huge slip angles and locking the tires may look dramatic on video, but it is no way to go around a race course quickly. I couldn't tell from the vid if the lap times given for the SL55 vs SLK55 were from her times or from another driver.

FWIW here are some Car and Driver test results on both cars:

SL55 (tested 11/02):
0 to 60 accel time: 4.5 seconds
300 ft skidpad: 0.91 G
understeer: minimal

SLK55 (tested 6/05):
0 to 60 accel time: 4.3 seconds
300 ft skidpad: 0.91 G
understeer: minimal

These metrics aren't the only factors that go into fast lap times, but I am not convinced that an SL55 would outlap an SLK55 in the hands of a good driver in both cases, despite what is shown in the video.

O I thought this was a SL550 vs a SLK55, not a SL55... :)
The Vid posted by Netmiami shows the SL to be an SL55, shows the kompressor badging, and quotes it having a supercharger and 500 hp (in europe) both consistent with it being an SL55 and not an SL550. The SL550 is normally aspirated and over 100 HP less.
