Hi.
I have a SLK 250 cdi R172 which I am now going to lay up for the remainder of the winter as the roads are now becoming covered in salt, I have a Ctek charger which I am going to use, my question to all fellow readers, is :- If I connect to the "Post and Bolt" this method should keep the main start battery charged, but will it also charge the " Eco start/stop " battery at the same time, or does the "eco" battery have to be charged separately.

Profile now updated as the 2005 slk 200 was my last car which I have replaced with a 250cdi

My 2018 SLC doesn't have the back-up battery behind the passenger seat, that early R172's had (y)

But yes, flip open 180' the Black/Red cover for the (+) jump start point under the bonnet & Your be able to close the bonnet while the CTEK leads are connected:
