So my BAS/ESP light lit up this morning, not sure if I should

a. put electrical tape over it
b. magic marker/black nail polish
c. just pull the bulb??
First, I would agree with curro101

Start the car, turn your wheel fully to the left. hold it for 2 seconds, then turn all the way to the right, hold 2 seconds. Also, try doing vice versa: right, then left. It should go away. If that doesn't help, then do some research on the bas/esp, brake light switch.

There's a switch/sensor right behind the brake pedal. The part itself is $20 bucks. But testing and labor can cost you around $300!

I've heard that some people experienced esp malfunction in an awful way. That is, they were driving a car on a highway, and suddenly the car just hit itself on a brakes to a dead stop. That was pretty scary to read.
