I have bought this myself, and it works like a charm ;-)

Doosl Car Kit, Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless Music Receiver, Audio Adapter | eBay

Highly recomendable for all you sound nerds out there that would like to stream BT AUDIO to the NTG system via the AUX port without spending tons of dollares....!

The battery lasts for 20 hours continous operation !

AND....

It shuts of automatically after 5 minutes of disconnetcion...

I don't think the older models (I'm 2005) have the Aux port. Maybe I just don't know where it is...
My SLK is 2005, with NTG1 head unit, and I have an aux port (it's in the glovebox, as Jeff has suggested). :)

Bluetooth audio takes a hit from BT headphones, speakers etc. which generally are low end transducers. The BT technology is simply a transport.

Bluetooth v4.0 has a bandwidth of over 1Mb/s. This should be sufficient for transmitting and receiving 320k MP3s without issues.

MP3 is a "lossy" format. CDs use lossless formats. Some people can hear the difference. I cant.
